The bleed from your interests starts to turn up absolutely *everywhere.* So, following the successful Philosophy and Property Rights Seminar, for which I gave the introduction, I went along to Global Comparative Financial Law, not expecting anything unusual. (By the way, apologies to people I have been out of contact with, especially Re:Patchwork Universe, it has been a busy week.) Towards the end of the lecture, which concerned Regulation of International Finance, what should come up but the case of R v. De Berenger (1814), a fine case which involved a British Admiral, rumors of the death of Napoloen, and one of the earliest examples of market manipulation! Hurrah!
In other news, I have train tickets and accommodation for my trip to Portsmouth in March, because I am indeed *that* crazy. I think I can manage it all for a about 50 pounds though, so it's not too bad.
( And according to this test, I am )
so I should really be capable of anything!
