Sayers Sundays
Feb. 5th, 2006 02:12 pmTonight, the final evening of Sayers Sundays, although I may do a re-runthrough next month, as there has been interest. As a reminder, the product on offer is the BBC production of the later Dorothy L. Sayers: Lord Peter Wimsey mysteries (Strong Poison, Have His Carcase, and Gaudy Night), and so we will have to move venue, as my DVDs are Region One and won't play in the common room machine.
nickeyb is away this weekend, so
wimble has kindly offered his living room, but please contact me via this journal, e-mail or phone if you're interested in coming, so I can keep track of who will be there, as well as provide directions and cake.
Date: Sunday, 5 February, 2006
Time: Starting from around 7:00pm, usually ending by 11:00pm at the latest.
Location:
wimble's
Film: Lord Peter Wimsey: Gaudy Night
Tagline: Ah, my favourite Lord Peter Wimsey mystery (evar OMG!), which through its last ten minutes or so profoundly influenced my academic career and changed the course of my life. A series of incidents at an Oxford College puts Lord Peter and Harriet back on the case, with predictable results.
Next week, I'm thinking of heading for lighter fare, with Jeeves and Wooster - G & T with J & W, anyone? Or I could wade right in with The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes (Granada version, of course), and take a break for the light comedy after the first series. Any thoughts or preferences?
