Older, But Not Dead Yet

Have returned from Trip'O'Doom, which was mostly fantastic. Have plans to become involved in the running and administration of Cons in future, as it seems well suited to my personality and abilities. Read several novels and rare short stories (Finally!), watched numerous movies, and listened to all but one of my remaining BBC Sherlock Holmes radio plays. Went to WorldCon, met some terrific people, got to see and talk to some of my favourite authors. Was awarded a medal -'Hero of Worldcon!' Met up with many great friends in California, ate wonderful food, had my nails done at Plum Spa, took in a business meeting. Achieved rapprochement with parents in Hawaii, updated driver's license, purchased new clothes. Spent four days at Crownhill Fort in Plymouth in the most congenial company imaginable, became officially old, received wonderful presents, fell hopelessly under the spell of Me and My Katamari, traveled around Derbyshire and dined with many fine Holmesians, and just had the best vacation ever.

Tomorrow, back to work, to edit the Record, run a telethon, and oversee a Gaudy. Oh, and finish a paper proposal, a journal article, assorted fics and some important paperwork, teach a few dance lessons, rejoin a gym, maybe make a vid, prepare for term, catch up on SGA, watch the new episode of House (OMG! House!) and keep doing more cool stuff. Thank you all, and here's to the next decade!
