On the exam front - The Global Comparative Financial Law collection has become a comedy of errors. For those who don't want to scroll back, this was the one that I wrote using the 2003 questions instead of the 2004 questions. As a practice test, this wouldn't be a problem, except that it was graded to the 2004 questions, with the the result that my evaluation was considered borderline. The script, now graded to its proper questions was kindly posted back to me by the Professor, but was apparently lost in the mail during the postal strike. (None of the later graded scripts have reached their recipients.) I have been assured, however, that when read with the proper questions it was fine, meeting my weighted average requirement of 65, with some room for improvement.

I will need to improve that score, of course, since my other collection, in (Kicking-My-Ass) Conflict of Laws, was rated a 62, with ample room for improvement, and I'd need at least a 68 on in another paper to average my MPhil conditional offer requirement. (Comments on that included the need to "appear to be more clever." Well, I'll certainly try...) Still, it's only another three points, and I can come up with it in any of four subjects, so with just over a month to go, all is not lost.

In other more exciting news, the Oxford Middle Eastern Dance Society is having another Hafla - Monday, June 14, 2004 at the Zodiac. Doors are at 8pm, tickets are about 3 pound or so. Once again, come to enjoy middle eastern snacks, groove to the DJs, and watch performances by some excellent dancers - including the members of my class, who will be performing! (Yes, I will be performing too.) Tickets available at http://www.the-zodiac.co.uk - book in advance to avoid the lines on the door.
