So, looking to the start of October, it seems I have signed up for something in the region of 7 (!) part-time jobs or similar level time commitments for this term. (AJDing, portering, library work, club work, possibly development work, teaching dance and being on OUMEDS Committee, and being a medical test subject.)This is not as bad as it sounds, as we're talking no more than a few hours for each, and several of them are the sort to allow reading or light research while working, but, um. There's also my course, you know -that 30,000 word thesis I'm going to write in a year? And the Course in Legal Research Method, auditing some undergraduate property and finance courses, and oh, and lest I forget, I'm also doing a UCLA Extension online course in Estate Planning and I'll need to finish my Personal Financial Planning Practicum sometime next year.
But, I'm not worried, no, not me - I do this almost every year, after all. Plus, I think I've worked my schedule out so that I can do the Bay of Biscay voyage in early December. This is cheaper, but also more difficult, traditional, and potentially dangerous than Christmas in Mediterranean. What this amounts to is likely being seasick on a notoriously stormy bit of sea in winter while it rains continuously, but I've hardly been more excited in my life. 12 days! Deep water crossing! Portsmouth-Lisbon! Huzzah!
