Again, I allow the weeks to tumble past without an update, and I soon forget what I've been doing. As a reminder to myself, there were visits from far off places, exchange dinners, Parent's Day and punting. And here's the update, with some added cool things to look out for.
( Baker Street )( Angels, Apsely and Blood )And, in the article of movies:
( Sith )( Smith )and best of all
( Batman Begins (with spoilers, and much squee) )I'm going to try to add another post later with some information on other appearances of Ra's Al Ghul, Talia Al Ghul and members of the family in comics and the animated series. (Anyone remember Ibn al Xu'ffasch from Kingdom Come? Oh yes, indeed!)
Other things to look out for? I'm eagerly anticipating "The Bridge of San Luis Rey," based on the novel my Thornton Wilder, set in 18th Century Peru, with a cast that includes Gabriel Byrne, Harvey Keitel, Robert De Niro, Kathy Bates, and best of all, F. Murray Abraham! (Salieri from Amadeus, for everyone else who forgot... :) Oh, and I'll soon have all the Murder Rooms movies, if anyone thinks they might like to join me. It's research for the House/Sherlock Holmes Victorian AU Crossover of Doom. (You think I'm kidding, don't you?)
And yes, the presentation to the 18th Century seminar went reasonably well, and I'm working on my next section. I'm going to Portsmouth for the International Festival of the Sea and other events at the end of this month, to Throssel Abbey for a week in July, and hopefully, to WorldCon for a few days in August, assuming the thesis is in a good place. My plans for next year remain a bit hazy, but I am hopeful.
